Two years ago Ateljé Råbygård open its doors and so much has happened in this short time! I had never anticipated this then! When my husband asked me if I wanted to haver a ceramic studio I thought of a small corner in the old stable. But no, he had BIG plans, which now, after AstraZeneca decided to close its doors in Lund, come in handy for me. Due to his BIG plans I can build a new carreer in this. In the beginning I thought it was scary, putting so much money in a hobby project, which I did not feel like I wanted to carry by myself (what if I did not want to do this in a few years...). So I asked som friends from AZ whom worked with ceramics as a hobby, if they wanted to join. And so we became 5! One of then is Caroline Düringer, whom has been very valuable to the development of the ateljé, from suggesting what machines to developing glazes.
In the past 2 years we have developed a logo by Bror Duktig (Tomas Dahlgren), we have gone from 5 to 13 people that work in the studio, we have had X-mas and easter exhibitions, open house, have been contacted by people that want to collaborate in some way, started courses and been in the newspaper 3 times!!
Caroline and I work very well together as we have seen at AZ but also during the last 2 years. Which is why we decided to go for this after AZ. I have had Ateljé Råbygård as a company since April 1st 2011 and Caroline started her company Brödlabbet also this year. Our goal is to develop the farm into a recognized, cosy and professional place where people can come and work with ceramics or bread. It will be a place to gather and stay over in a relaxed and countryside environment. Exciting times!
In the end I would like to thank everyone that has been one way or the other with us on this journey. A red cyber rose for you!
Gott jobbat och lycka till med fortsättningen.
